The "Octatrack" can be just about anything... But judging from the name... It kinda sounds like it's a sequencer or something DAW-like. Now I'm just thinking out loud; but it's not impossible that it is some kind of "master-unit" that can arrange and record stuff from the md and mono on the fly.
I mean, Elektron kind of has this vision of a closed platform with the mnm and md- maybe they want to seal the circle of the units by making it a complete "recording" enviroment for elektron gear? This may be far-fetched- But "just" a sequencer seems a bit too simple.
And maybe it's something completely different. Hopefully. Hehe.
