I found those demos completely underwhelming. The MD-UW essentially does all of those sounds and much more.

Yes, but you can't judge the machinedrum or the machinedrum uw by the demos on the elektron site...though they are better than these crap demos. I damn well know this 999 is capable of great sounds...so I'm not gonna diss it. Jomox should be dissed for putting up such bad demos. JSRockit

love em or hate em,
the machinedrum doesn't create the same timbres as the jomox,
and vice versa.
thus i don't see the point in 'comparing' them, it comes down to which sound you like.
-an sps-1 owner.
