Stockhausen 18 Years, 5 Months ago
I want to listen to some Stockhausen... but have no idea where to start. I listen to some in the Library when I was in college...about 10 years ago...but would like to hear some again. What is considered an essential listen and what is a good piece to start with...that is readily available?

i know your problem, a few years ago somebody played me a
stockhausen piece and was real excited about it.
When i listen to a lot of other material i wasn't that excited...
but a lot of his stuff are recording/sythesis experiments more then musical pieces imo...

i found this link in a magazine:
http://www.stockhausen.org/stockhausen_multimedia.html
i have only check if it worked, but haven't downloaded or heard any of the pieces yet...

am already listening to to first xperimnt.... yes some goood sh*t and some stuff i just don't understand.

i see that there a some interviews there too... so that'll keep yah busy for some time...

be sure you check this as well:

That's an interview with KarlHeinz regarding dancemusic (Karlheinz Stockhausen Advice to clever children...1995) the intro of the story will tell you the rest.
