RAM Rec/Play "trick"? 15 Years, 4 Months ago
So this just occurred to me on the MD -- the concept since I haven't actually tried it out. Would it be possible to use the mute position setting on the md kits to automate avoid having to mute/unmute in the mute window? For instance could you set up a RAM rec track that would be muted once another track, which would have the RAM play machine on it, plays?

I'm thinking out loud and wondering if anyone's ever tried this.

I do not see why not, sounds like a good idea to syncopate sounds and such back and fourth. You could use it for some type of call / response idea.

Yeah, that works, though you obviously don't get the full 2/4 bars that way.

I think on the MKII you could at least get 2 full bars, but not 4 (since I'm nearly sure the mkII can't sample all 4 bars).
