Re: how to knw the note on MD? 18 Years, 10 Months ago
This printout it sweet! I'm going to laminate it and post it next to my MD and start crafting some sweet TRX base lines!

Thanks for the pointer. I'd come accross this page before, but it didn't mean anything to me at the time.

that would be super useful...does such a thing exist?
i'm mostly a drummer...it'd be amazing to open up a sequencer with such a plug, and tune drums with it!
If you got mac there are a few pitch recognition softwares. I like the strobe tuner myself. But you need a long enough sound for it to work. I'm not sure about PC softwares.

sweet - I have been looking for a strobe tuner for my analogs for some time!
I usually just tune the MD by ear, and to be honest, a numerical frequency chart does not do much for me - ear is fastest, or conversion to like A2, or C3 or something is best.

It would be really cool, if MD had a small pointer or letter in pitch frame to show when it's tuned on some note. What I actually mean is that the frequency table would be coded inside MD OS and the GUI would show whenever the pitch is on note (or as near as it gets). The UW allreaydy has tuneable machines, so this step would next logical one. I love how MD is growing from the both sides - users and designers of the machine.
