Holding function and tweaking a knob alters the parameter for every channel. Not sure if that is in the manual or not. Would be pretty useful for filtering the MD?

I do not study the manual. Only refer to it when I have a question or curious about something, so this thread might sound like a broken record

Yep, this is a bread and butter trick on the MD Try combining it with the function+classic mode button (reloads the current kit). This allows you to wreak as much havoc on your sounds as you want and then go back to the default settings in a snap.

That sounds good for experimenting with a kit to get new sounds then go back if it goes to hell....

you and me JS -- although I've moved on to 4 bar loops, I don't get the newfangled switching back and forth. I never got it to work properly. probably because i'm old and stupid too.
