OT: Control the pulse width of a square wave LFO? 10 Years, 8 Months ago
|
Is it possible to change the "off/on" times of a square LFO to not be equal? I basically want to narrow the pulse width of the LFO so I get a quick blip of "on" followed by a long "off".
I know I could accomplish this with the LFO designer, but I wasn't sure if there was a way to manipulate the normal square LFO to do the same trick?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hmm, totally guessing here but maybe if you had another LFO of the same speed modulating the square LFO's speed, if the phase was lined up right, you could use the depth of that to control pulsewidth? I don't think the shape would matter too much as long as the wave spent the right amount of time high and low, and I'm not sure what that would work out to be...

That's a good idea, License. Thanks! Even if it doesn't accomplish what I'm envisioning, I bet it would yield interesting results.

Exponential to Speed might do it too. Once the square drops, it will just drop so I would think exponential would do it with the fast change occurring first. Haven't tried though.

Thanks, Veets. I'll give that a whirl as well.
