I've been thinking, if Elektron are not going doing any further updates to the MD and MnM ... wouldn't it be great if they open source the software so that people can code their own machines?! I would for one be interested in a hackable drum machine and synth.

Thing is i did see the last update for it was like a year and half before ? Is it considered complete or can we expect anything more for it ?

I would guess that it could be considered pretty much complete. Future updates (if any) will probably just be bug fixes... if any major bugs are found.

... just my guess tho.

It would be nice to get some of the newer Elektron sequencing features like none destructive muting ect for the older units. I would also like a trigger step hold/repeat to make fine tuning p/locks much quicker and precise for each step although the patch selection on the A4 goes somewhere towards this.

I own Mki's and I wouldn't mind paying for updates if need be.

another vote for open sourcing the OS - make the MNM hackable! Imagine the possibilities... and is there any real reason not to?

For the Monomachine: You should be able to capture transpose changes in real time recording mode.
