I haven't been here in years but saw this sad news on the Elektron mail-out and thought I should come and pay my respects.
Being a moderator on another forum this has hit me in a weird way...
I didn't know Ryan at all IRL but always enjoyed chatting with him here as Actuel.
My condolences to his family and the regular forum users.

I didn't know Ryan, and haven't been on long enough to be a fan of his music or activity in the community, but I do know this forum and if he's one of the people that really made it what it is than I'm very grateful.

This is where I come to see what real musicians are doing, the ones who are excited about the future of music and actively building it as we speak. A space like this, where you can hear those voices above the din of the internet is invaluable, so thanks Ryan.

Shocking news...although I only knew Actuel from the forum I still couldn' t believe what I read in that Elektron mail...

Really sad to read that one of those guys that is always around with a helpful and reasonable attitude passed away.

My condoleances to his family, the Elektron crew and the core members on this board.

My condolences to his family... this seems so unreal and terrible.

I was looking forward to meeting him in real life one day and I will miss him for sure. He's the greatest guy I've never meet. Always felt like he had my back and cheered me on when things got though. Wish I could get on a plane to Indy right now.

What this site means to me;
-I was able to be on my first album (machine)
-All of us using the same machines, in our own ways.
-Sharing our tricks and techniques.
-Teaching new Elektron users

Without this site and the community all wouldn't be possible.

Can't believe this! I was just chatting with him over Twitter about the 45 Tribute website being down...and now he's gone?! Big WTF!

What can I say that hasn't already been said? His contributions to this community were immeasurable. Elektron-Users fostered creativity, collaboration, and, as others have said, relationships.

I won't speculate as to what his ailment was, but it must have been bad; he was often tweeting about bone marrow transplants and other serious procedures.

So unfortunate. My condolences.
