otherwise, you'll record, play the recording, and then record the played recording :-DFwiw, I set the Record machine to the inputs, not the output of the machine.
The problem is that; Samples degrade heavily if kept in ram for any amount of time - and - using R1 trigs on the same step as P1 tripgs causes all manner of problems. This is known stuff, not worth rehashing here.
