Pro Tools 11 is out and that's all you can download from AVIDs page..

Anyone know where to download a free trial of Pro Tools 10? Apparently My computer (mac pro 2011) is not new enough for Pro Tools 11..

Hope someone can help - it would mean a lot.

The very reason I use REAPER now is it does not drain your wallet each new release while REAPER has extensive features that Pro Tools still does not fully possess.

and...

AVID/Pro Tools is one of the few that **NEVER** allows "free trial" of anything, and even then, it probably would only work on a very specific PC or MAC build, as that's the other thorn in my side about AVID is they will not even give you support if they determine you have a PC/MAC that "has not been fully and properly tested AND **approved** by AVID!

FWIW-the completely FULL version of Reaper with absolutely no limitations nor "Light Edition" is freely downloadable for your trial and then for a non-commercial license of $60. USD that's completely on the honor system, you have a powerful DAW with free updates for a long period. Then you can download additional features that integrate seamlessly into Reaper from Standingwaterstudios, the "SWS Extensions", as they are called, developed in partnership for Reaper. Just a more sane DAW and company and is actually quite light on the CPU side for all its power and yes...it is for both PC and MAC and other virtual instrument formats are compatable....oh, you do not need a freaking Dongle as Pro Tools does and that recent nightmare people went through earlier this year!!

You are quite welcome. Do you know that it was only just very recently that Pro Tools even would fully support Windows version with 64 Bit? By the way, with those SWS Extensions for Reaper, they are completely free and you can even download them and add to your evaluation period and there's even several skins available to customize appearance, with even one that faithfully emulates Pro Tools.
