A'ight, I ditched iPad "djay" and got onto Virtual dj and did a new JogginMix. So, this is an assortment of dub techno, tech-house, and minimal, ending with one of my favorite all-time minimal downtempo pieces: Tben by Suedmilch. I use mixes like this to not only run distances, but to beat-match my steps to the music (which varies throughout the mix). Beat matching my steps allows me to run at different rhythms and lowers the chance of injury, sore muscles, etc.

Or you could just chill and listen....

When I resurrect my studio (really only need my audio i/f ffs!), I'll get back to writing some tunes, until then it's mixes....

Got 3 Joggin' mixes now (good for 3 outings, 10km+). All funky, dubby, minimal, techy housy, if you're into that sort of thing. Had to move from soundcloud though, as it was eating into my 240min, so I've put them on mixcloud (which also does auto-tune detection and labelling, which is a godsend for a lazy bastard like me!!!)

Just ordered this disc....

German 70's disco Moroder influenced... Just awesome reminds me of my roller rink days....

Track 8 "Advance " stellar!!!

(en) One of Cologne's most revered personalities in electronic music is producer, singer and DJ JUSTUS KÖHNCKE. A true Kompakt staple since his ground-breaking "Was Ist Musik?" album from 2002, he continuously proved to be an extraordinary artist whose output sports rare lyrical and transformative properties, not shying away from German Schlager-like vocals or straight-up Disco references. It's Köhncke's highly idiosyncratic (and personal) approach to dance music as we know it that informs every track, every sound coming out of his studio, making it a goosebumps-inducing experience and a communal event. Therefore, Kompakt is extremely proud to present BASS IST MUSIK, a definitive collection of both signature tracks (like mythical 2004 dance floor hit "Timecode") and underground favorites (2002's "Jet" comes to mind here, as does the memory of sweat-laden parties in Cologne's most hidden basements), dauntlessly cutting through three full-length releases and countless 12"s between 2001 and now. Needless to say we included Köhncke's legendary remake of Jürgen Paape's towering "So Weit Wie Noch Nie" and leftfield classic "Weiche Zäune", a much-adored plea for more open-mindedness in club culture, stylistically or otherwise. Not only a celebration of the artist's earliest years, "Bass Ist Musik" also invites you to discover more recent works like 2006 headbanger "Advance" or 2008's "Feuerland", an expertly crafted cover of Krautrock legend Michael Rother's early 70s cult jam, making this a perfectly balanced selection worthy of the KOMPAKT KLASSIKS seal of approval.

Been listening to Clams Casino a lot lately, he's got some epic stuff. Also Sweden's very own 1991, the newest Andy Stott, that new Vessel record is pretty interesting, also just bought Dataline's newest record (I believe he's a poster on here?), which is also interesting to listen to, the new Vladislav Delay record is amazing, best thing he's done for years, also been listening to Teengirl Fantasy (heard that they used Elektron stuff), and obviously Actress, who is just boss. Can't believe the sound he manages to achieve with his Elektron stuff. Oh, and Vatican Shadow has some intense shit going, loving their sound as well, very rough.

Also the newest release on my netlabel, by a guy called Calculush, some really nice instrumental hip-hop (marsmelons.com for free download and stream).

This is a great mix.

Hits the nail on the head soundwise for me. I would like to make stuff like this if I had even an ounce of talent.
