Don't normally go for this stuff but there's some really usable and useful bread-and-butter samples collected there, nice work!

Haven't messed with sample chains at all yet, this is a perfect motivation to start.

One question that could extend to everyone....

What is your approach to build chains?
Because for me it is too much time-consuming....in a DAW like ProTools too!

I was trying a way to do this inside OT.
Using a pattern to play 64 samples for 64 steps with a 1/8 scale @114 bpm or around that...

The most time consuming of this is to assign Static slots...

I wrote a script called trimpad which does the hard work for me. It is in the files section of this forum. You want a Mac or Linux for it to work OOTB (you will only need to install sox), experienced computer users could also make it run on Windows.

I downloaded the SOX binary from sourceforge - then Trimpad but i really don't know where to start.
Should i open SOX with Terminal? Or Trimpad....OR.....can you tell me how to do this correctly?

Terminal is a good start yeah!
But first you would want to read it. Open it in a text editor. I've put some explainations inside.

Then, open Terminal and move trimpad into the /usr/bin directory.
Assuming that you've saved trimpad into your Downloads folder:

$ mv ~/Downloads/trimpad /usr/bin

Make trimpad executable:

$ chmod +x /usr/bin/trimpad

Now you can use trimpad in the Terminal, as described in trimpad itself.
If you quickly want to read it again because you forgot how to use it:

$ less /usr/bin/trimpad

Press 'q' to quit less

To make sure sox is installed correctly, again in the Terminal, type:

$ which sox

It should say something like /usr/bin/sox or similar.

Hi VVD, what i' ve got till now is this:




i dont actually know if I "installed" sox....i just have an executable file from its zip folder....but as u can see from the snapshot if i enter

$ which sox

it returns a not found thing....

sorry if this foolish asking could bother a programmer.....but this would my first approach to programming and for the OT !!

Just copy the sox executable and soxi from the zip to /usr/bin too:
