I've just built a Soundskulptor Tape Simulator for tIB on here:









It's described as processor to simulate analogue tape but it's got quite a fruity overdrive and saturation circuit which sounds bloody lovely on drums and bass. It's two independent mono channels too which makes it quite flexible for Elektrons, especially MD (which I believe is what tIB wants it for).

If anyone is interested, while I still have it here, I'd happily run a sample or two through it if you send some over.

Sorry to insist but I'm not sure to understand.

Yours is a VLZ, no VLZPro nor VLZ3 I guess. Is it one of the older ones? Or were you talking about even older models?

mine is vlz not pro. it has nice clean distortion. It is the only model I worked with. Basicly the mackie's from the 80s and 90 s will work for that I guess

Very well; I've not had much time in the studio since it arrived so have net pushed the distortion side of things too much. I love what it does to a whole mix though on the master bus- has a magic box vibe where what goes in comes out sounding tighter and more together. Very cool indeed. Will have a go at driving it today if it get chance.
