Re:Minimum set-up for recording & mixing? 11 Years, 1 Month ago
I still have to start with listening sessions. I also want analog coloration like the Synclavier in the early days! Here's a quote from a technical consultant of NED:
"Ask any user of The Synclavier system and they should all agree that once a sound from any other keyboard has been recorded into the Synclavier and then played back it somehow sounds much bigger, wider and better than the original sound - How so? The official answer is "we add a little bit of extra magic". The unofficial answer is that we add a little 'analogue coloration' to the sound that is pleasing to the ear rather than to measuring equipment but still keep the incredible accuracy of the sound at all times in the digital domain. For this reason and because of the 16 bit resolution down to zero volume we do NOT have digital audio outputs on the Synclavier."
So what kind of new audio interface has this kind of magic?
