as I have been on the road for the last 6 weeks, I was horrified to discover this thread only 2 days ago! since then, I have spent so much time devising ways to afford this.. before I hit the road, I was looking at analog poly options. and now seeing I know my way around the MnM this could be it
to me it sounds more analog than the DSI polys and I am a loving owner of the Tempest!
but saying that, I am a bit of a fan of John Carpenter style soundtracks and I wonder how easy it will be to compose retro and simple analog pads on this new elektron?
I just can't wait for them to reveal more specs! but I guess I'll have to

In response to the claim that the new device looks to be the same depth as the others, I can't see the lower edge of it anywhere, so I can't verify that claim.

I dispute that it can sound 'much nicer' than the MnM
...it will sound 'different'......

old sequencial days are great...the P5, the pro-one, the VS...all great sounding synths

new breed sounds nothing like the old stuff...is not a matter of discrete vs IC, or VCO vs DCO...this are topics that was discussed to death and the results always dependes on the specific examples...this is just a question of the sound and the taste of the listener

I don´t like them...and I love the juno 60 for instance, great poly with lush sound, no matter it´s a single DCO and all the things one could say about it being a low-budget synth when released (ie compared with a jupiter)
