Hey all you hardcore programmers....

I was wondering if it's possible to create a Euclid Generator (like found on the MiniCommand) for the computer. Seeing how Ruin & Wessen have damn near fallen off the map, it'd be nice to see their efforts continued. Obviously, a hardware piece is much more beneficial for many reasons but it'd be cool to at least be able to create Euclidean jams directly into the Machinedrum's sequencer.

I have a Java-based sequencer that does NOT create the pattern data, as fun as it is, it'd be so much nicer to have the patterns stored inside the machine for transportation/later experimentation.

I really miss the MiniCommand's power. I am just wondering if there is any way of putting all that into a computer program...

IIRC, Manuel modeled the Euclid firmware on a feature in Ableton. Might look into that.

you could build one in Max/Msp.

Yes! That software is a ton of fun! Only gripe is that pattern data is not directly saved into the sequencer which would make working a lil different. If that is the way I need to go for some algorithmic music then I am down. We shall see!

are you refering to maxmsp? if you are it is possible to store pattern data

I was thinking of creating one using the Lemur app, jut need to find the time for it.

I've heard a lot about MaxMSP but I've never actually seen what it is. Guessing it's an open-source software that handles MIDI?
