Cheers me dears, got some great stuff being discussed with HQ, my own personal take on this kind of thing is to get the ball rolling, no fucking about and endless discussion, keep it simple and easy to manage without cutting corners. I think really we want to get this all set up within around 4 weeks to maintain momentum, enthusiasm and get the money rolling in.
Thoughts so far:
Bandcamp seems to be looking viable for a number of reasons, easy access, paypal, some custom stuff can be done, we might be able to persuade them to lower their revenue share from 15% to 10%, we can set a name your price model, lower set up fees (nil) and we can have as many tracks as needed. Also much quicker than for example itunes to get it out there.
I don't think we need to have any restrictions on what gear is used or musical style, and anyone who wants to contribute a track should be accepted - the objective is to raise money so the more the merrier IMHO.
If anyone has skills that could be utilised, step foreward.
We need to think about things like artwork, promotion, name etc. A community effort, so feel free to contribute!
Thanks!
