So sad. The proof of his hard work and dedication will live on here on this forum, as will the memory of him.

Life is so fleeting. All you can do is be a good person and do thoughtful things with your friends, family and colleagues. These things are priceless and continue on after you no longer do. Rest well, sir.

It's sad to see someone capable of bringing so many good people together pass on. He will be missed and remembered by many.

I don't know what to say, I'm stunned. Best wishes to his family. Ryan was so supportive when I started out, and when I was going through some rough times. He played a very important role in my life. I am just stunned and speechless... I can't say much more.

I've only just got my MD, and i've only made a couple of posts, but i would like to pass my condolances to his family, friends and everyone else on here that knew him. x

I really don't have many words either... the first ones that come to my mind though are giving, generous, trusting of others, incredibly enthusiastic about life and this community, and finally, faithful.
But perhaps this is the most telling of all:

While many of us have taken great pains to customize our gear and to personalize it according to our tastes (to include putting even our own artist names on it as I have in the recent past)...Ryan took a different tact. Even his idea of customization was inclusive, not exclusive, of the community:

Just over a year ago, he send me an email about customizing his OctaTrack:

"Thanks for getting back so quickly Shaggie. Essentially, I am merely looking for parts. I am relatively comfortable with the build myself. Here's a screenshot of my build:

I need the following:
All grey knobs - black
Fader - black
Flat circular buttons - black
Pill buttons - black
Red Blacklit - LCD"

And while the references to black today may give us all a chill down our spine, the most telling part of his heart is in the top right corner: May we always stay a community first, and individuals last. And may Ryan's ghost forever be the words between the lines on this forum....

I really loved this color layout when he posted it some time ago...

Last year, Ryan appointed me as an adminstrator as I kept coming across really annoying spam posts. They ranged from viagra meds to leather handbags, and were really starting to piss me off.

As a new user with only a hundred or so posts it was very trusting of him to give me this role, as he obviously could tell from my regular spam reports that I cared about the forum.

It was an honour to be given a caretaking job on this site to keep it clean and focussed on what it was originally created for.

We exchanged several emails throughout last year and he was always very friendly and welcoming.

What a shame, he certainly made his mark whilst visiting this planet, but I'm sure he's continuing his work elsewhere.
