Ryan and I had a tempestuous relationship, but turning this site over to him was the best thing that could have happened to it. I remember him sheepishly asking me what FTP meant, along with a host of other newbie questions when he first starting working in the same office as me. He quickly eclipsed my admittedly mediocre web savvy and became a first-rate designer with an authentic and uncompromising creative vision.
Although his passing doesn't come as a surprise, I nevertheless find myself profoundly affected by it. People, appreciate what you have in this life, for it is ephemeral at best. Stress less, have fun, and let those close to you know that you love them. Nothing is a serious as it seems in the heat of the moment.
