Making SWAVE sound less thin 15 Years, 2 Months ago
I was playing around with the SWAVE machines last night, and found that these steps help fill out the thin sound.

1) Leave the keyboard tracking for the HPF ON.

2) Tune the HPF frequency to 16 (The fundamental frequency w/ key tracking ON).

3) Turn up the HPQ to around 40, to add some body to the sound.

yep adding a resonating hpf to a sound will fatten it

i found that on the ms 20 but just a few years back

well, you got two sub-octave oscilllators, square and sine (even a 2-oct sub sine) to make it thicker
the square one is really raw and the sine is round as you can expect

but maybe you don´t want another waveforms than just 1 saw

keytracked bass EQ boost works too

also try to low some mid-high frequency range with the EQ, just a matter of relationships between different perceived frequency levels

this is entrancing and fascinating, the fundamental frequency .. 16? i have no idea how this number is the fundamental.. have to try this cool technique.

nice one.. does this relate to a special number for the fundamental frequency in a similar way?

I'm not sure why either but if you sweep, you will find that filter multiples of 8 resonate very strongly. You might be able to get a little something with 4's too - can't recall.
