Thought it maybe time for another OTLab, I don't recall that we have done a "remixlab" yet. So, maybe it is time for one. I've searched around and the most interesting remix comp out there is Tosca - Looking on !K7, lots of atmospheric sounds to play around with. You can download the parts from, Beatport or DropBox.

The rules are simple, you can only use 8 tracks of the OT and the downloaded samples, nothing else.

So, here's my "submission". I basically only did it to finally post something I did and try out recording from my mixer with my new camera.

Essentially I got progressive with the vocal samples from a stereo sweep background to a full on rythmic vocal attack. I tried to keep a few themes running through all the parts, but I needs a lot of work to be something I actually like.

Note: I'd never heard the song before I did this and still haven't. My interpretation is a kind of minimalist trip-hop track, and I quite like the vibe (just not the execution). It's my first video- the sound comes in hot in the beginning, and the first time I've ever publicly posted anything, so I'm not expecting any accolades =).

Here is my submission,

Track 1: Stone sample with added reverb
Track 2: Kloff sample modulating Start, Retrig and Rate
Track 3: Filter sample modulating Start and Retrig
Track 4: Bass sample pitched down
Track 5: Rhodes sample with spatilaizer and filter
Track 6: Neighbour machine with flanger and delay
Track 7: VC2 sample with filter and lo-fi
Track 8: Neighbour machine with phaser and dark reverb
