I'm gonna figure out what the elcheapo drive is. I mean, the entire investment is less than $100. Akai was pretty cool to offer the HDD kit for ~ $35.

Yeah - me and endmusik were talking about that the other night. That 1.4 GB I dumped was 2500 sounds 80% drum hits, a few bass sounds, and some incidental ambient guitar pads.
I got the Toshiba 40GB on ebay $56 delivered, and $34 (w/Tax) for the HDM-10. A no brainer. And being able to just sit down, turn it on and dial up a few sounds and start banging is great!
