The MD is a great tool for triggering complex patterns from Battery 2. The problem is that the MD is not velocity sensitive. The accents are transmitted, but that only leaves you will two levels of velocity in your drum tracks. No where near as expressive as if I trigger the drums from my nord lead, but obviously a much more manual and less intuitive way to program drum patterns. Too bad the MD doesn't transmit (volume) parameter locks as velocity info. Any other solutions?

umm, can't you use the MIDI machines and lock velocity on each step?

yep, you can! and this way you can access
all samples from one midimachine.
and you can use the lfo for a battery controller.
and control the other cc# as well with the second
page of the midimachine. this works for me dB-)

some more things you can try:

a random lfo (MD) -> Sample loop length/start (battery)

or random lfo (hold) -> filter/eq

or both... or even more!

Look into the option Cycle round robin (or somethin' like that) as well.
This gives you the option of triggering a different sample pad from the same midi-note#, it cycles thru them as the name does suggest.

I really like Battery2 But i think it's a pitty that the Modulation option "loop count" isn't there anymore (it was in battery (1)). But options as compression and filtering make it much more easy to mix.
