Roland TD-3 midi drums -> playing Machinedrum? 10 Years, 9 Months ago
hi all, anyone ever connected a V-Drumkit to a machinedrum?

im playing stratocaster in a techfunk trio, and the drummer is keen to try crossover acoustic drums mixed with some midi drum action.

i read the manual for the midi drumkit, the roland TD-3, and it says it only transmits on midi channel 10.

is this okay? i have forgotten if the MD 4-midi channel setup is for midi signals coming from the Machinedrum? or does the TD-3 need to transmit on four channels to the MD to be able to trig all 16 machines in the MD?

also found a nice conversion chart for midi note numbers ... basically C0 is midi note 0, C1 is midi note 12, C2 note 24, C3 note 36, so on and so forth to C10 on note 120.

so that's cool.

so, i guess i set the MD base channels to be 9-12?

and then rig the note Mapping in the MD to correspond correctly to the incoming midi trig data from the drumbrain on the TD-3?

any advice greatly appresh
