is there anything out there like a mini patchbay?
in very small form, with on-thetop-patching (not like the racks which lead out in the back)
this would be so handy to come up with new routings for pedals

I was just looking on sweetwater last night...I love the look of the thing you just posted...but I am leaning towards a piece of rack gear like this:

i like the idea of those little Hosa modular boxes!

pretty nice.... hageir, this might interest you if youre thinking of using a patch bay for pedals. It has a little 10 point bay in two stereo loops, 8 nine volt power connects, and 3 regular plugs.

alright!

Hyphen, I have one of those rack-bays, they're just annoying for one user and a small setup (great for big studios with lots of reel to reel channels and stuff)

Rew, I really don't want to spend so much
I've got a few 9v adapters and a couple of daisy-chains for the pedals, so I'm "electrically" all set..

that little hosa patchbay is THE SHIT!

now my question:
Balanced or unbalanced? (for pedals)

now my question:
Balanced or unbalanced? (for pedals)

pedals are typically unbalanced. most have a high-z input/output. i usually like to make sure there is a gain stage before i go to tape(hard drive) so that i can control the level of the effected signal. the external effects plugs for live are quite nice for incorperating stomps.
