sfx-6 and mpc 1k w/ jj here and a bunch of fx stomps. i use the mpc for drums/samples because i like chopping up loops and such. i also like programming stuff on the mono and taking a snapshot of the sound in various states so that i can reverse it, chop it, rearrange it etc.. often times i program my electronic drums in the MnM and sample them to allow me to use the mono in poly mode. if i have a noise osc that i modulate to sound like a dynamic hi-hat or snare pattern then i just sequence the 2 bar loop and then sample that. i actually use the input through on the mpc so that the sfx-6 is always running through the mpc's inputs ready to be sampled. you can go a long way with a sampler, synth and some fx.

It's a great combination, of course, although I found that getting *all* my sounds out of Elektron gear tended to be a little overwhelming, since the Elektron sound character is so sharp and digital and punchy.

this is basically where i am, and lovin' it (if i had any damn time!). resampling/sampling the elektrons in the mpc let's you impose a different sort of sound character so that not quite everything sounds the same . . . i find the elektrons and mpc to be very complimentary. and hell yes for using the mono in poly mode -- that's actually where most of my mono userwave time has been spent so far! =)

Yeah. MM in poly mode is a great instrument. I kind of hate to eat up the entire machine in one patch but some of those sounds with long overlapping release tails can be gorgeous.
I'd love to see Elektron come out with a polymachine some day. Could be exactly the same box only with 6x6 voices.

i did, twice even! sold it. i love the effects in that box and it's a great synth but it's just not needed in my setup anymore. i so really need this big lush sounds and when i do i can just reach for Circle, Massive, or whatever. the new MnM waves are no Ti but its nice to get tones with more body in that box.
do you still rock your Ti?
