yeah, that's a little off to me... $10K+ in synth gear...$200 monitors. huh? I don't have that much in synth gear, but I prolly would have moved more funds towards the gear sounding better to my ears rather than having more of it to hit my ears. but that's me...

there's wisdom in them thar words, that's for sure!

but the thing about monitors - once you learn them it's hard to necessarily get rid of them. I know them REALLY well at this point (have had them for, er, close to three years?) and my room is acoustically shit (it would cost me a fortune to do anything to better that) so until I move my production gear to a new space, I'll stick with the mix/tracking environment I'm used to and tuned to
