Yes, I mentioned this before.

the 'More' you're clicking on is under 'Recent Forum Topics'. If you're logged-in, you have to do it twice. Why? Well because it shows the recent since you're last visit. If you're not logged-in, it will take you to 'More' on the first click.

If you're not logged in then it doesn't know who you are, so it just take you to the recent posts. If log-in, it's a bit more clever and looks at what is new to you since you're last log-in

you almost got it.

if you're logged in, you have to click 'More...' twice. if you're not logged in, it doesn't care and you can view all recents on one click.

Is possible that this question was posted, but?.

Why not do a subforum for the different machines?...

when the site was originality created the 'Elektron Gear' forum was decisively chosen. we visited the idea of sub-forums last year but decided it was unnecessary to segregate at the time. one of the main challenges then was that we also migrated from Xoops to Joomla. which had an entirely different db structure. it was no small feat.

sometime in early '09 we'll be revamping the site with many updates, upgrades, etc. we'll revisit the idea of sub-forums then. i'm not really planning any major site changes until then.

i see the pros and cons on both ends of the argument.

just a quick one here...

our site uses Fireboard for it's forum software. while it has been very good to us the last 9 months it is still very young. well they're previewing FB ver. 2 here: www.bestofjoomla.com/videos/fb2/frontend.swf

loads a good updates await us:
- new and improved search (looks amazing)
- groups
- viewing the forum by subject, time,
- improved user list (linkable names)
- block certain user (heh)


anyway, more to come...but a preview of some nice enhancements.

the "Profile Home" link/url is assigned to some other site..

nice catch. i will try to locate this later. the current version of E-U was developed under that other url then moved here.
