yeah i had this setup, but for me 24 analog in/outs was not needed so i sold one audiofire 12.
i dont know what you mean by "but for midi sync you'll need an extra Sync Clock" i had no issues with this rig and AF12 sounds very good. it will run standalone like a summing mixer without the computer. still have one but now using sycos stereo. you could use a ZED r16 mixer but i'm not impressed by the noise floor on the ZED10, different puppies!
try not to buy behringer mixers, presonus? meh. but your other options are ok. oh, and get an OT!
