Re:Best complement for a MD: x0xb0x, ElectribeEA, MiniCommand? 11 Years, 11 Months ago
I'd like to interject a suggestion here for the Zoom Sampletrak ST-224. I got one recently on a recommendation over at VSE and couldn't be happier with it next to my MD with the MD driving it. It's a phrase sampler with hifi, normal and lofi sample rates; has built in fx that sound good; does stereo or mono; extremely easy and fast to chop up samples and assign to pads; does resampling; can play samples chromatically; saves to smart media cards. You can get these for at or under $100 on eBay right now and they are worth much more IMO. Very under the radar and underrated.
I am getting this instead of the xoxbox. Nothing against the xoxbox but everyone has one and the ones you buy ready made look crap.
This looks pretty cool...almost like a cross between a 303 and 101. Doesn't look like it can glide or do accents though or am I missing something?
From the specifications :
Variable glide - 16 steps sequencer with LED - 4 rows: 1 row controls gates and notes. - 3 other rows are freely assignable to any parameter of the front panel.
