I've never had any sync problem with my MD-UW.
I can assure you it's the most stable piece in my whole studio (at least timing wise... the OS is getting there...).

I use it with various Emagic MIDI interfaces (Unitor 8 MKII, MT4) and a TM-1, at different times.

Never noticed any problem with external sync, either working with software (mostly Logic on a Mac and Cubase SX/Nuendo on a PC) or hardware (MD synced to an MPC4000 and Nord Modular, the three of them all playing synced sequences).

Actually the MD syncs to software amazingly well, in a more stable and reliable way than my MPC4000, a pretty solid timing machine in itself.

I use it with Ableton Live on a Mac and I am amazed at the tightness.

no doubt man, but the whole software/hardware sync issue is like a speed hump for me in terms of sync, reliability and productivity. its not worth it.. for me.
i have turbomidi, its rad, my samples load heaps faster. whether various software packages utilise turbomidi protocol is yet to be seen. standalone VSTs are the only VSTs I am happy with ATM so that all i can reccomend, even though i rarely use them..

Just post a topic on the Live forum and it seems i am not the only one having problems.

Got some suggestions there like MIDI OX...

So, I tried Midi OX but still no result.

I find it very strange that some people get perfect sync, whilst others don't!

I use the MD as the Master now and it works fine, i can record loops, change the pitch and so on.

But for instance, in a live situation i would like to have Live as a master...

Oh yeah, and i just would like to have my setup synced perfect, in every way! :-D

Still no real answer about that Turbomidi also...

LCVL, you say you have perfect sync. With a Mac and a PC by the way so that's sorted out.

Did you had perfect sync before you bought the TM1?

I am having the same problem with my brand new MD,it just arrived.
sometimes appears on the md ext(audio sync), sometimes appears the bpm, so it jumps around in time....
how do you guys make the config with md and cubase?
what's more, config cubase as master and md as master?
cubase sx3 - md - pc-windows xp - dual 2 core e6600,2gigs ram, virus ti,moog voyager,komplete 4 + TURBO MIDI.

Just use a TM-1!!! That's what Elektron made it for!!!!!

When the TM-1 came out I tested how much better sync was with Ableton Live with it, and found no measureable or audible difference at all. That's not to say that adding one won't fix your problem, just that it's not a given.

I have that-turbo midi from elektron...and still having this problem but I just received the md maybe I am doing something wrong here,
please help.

hmm, try something else than live 6?
maybe logic or cubase?

I am with cubase mate.

Similar problem with a MAC !
