Got my MD last week so I thought the EFM CB only thing would be interesting when learning the MD. 12 EFM CB's + one CTR-AL to change the rythm in the bass tone.

A little jam I did with my MD, microKorg and Alesis Ion. Doesn't really go very far, but uses the Ctrl-All trick on the MD quite a lot, aswell as the MIDI machines and Input processing.
I made this track when I first got my MD - its a little rough around the edges, but since I mistakenly deleted the patterns and kits this is the definitive version.
This is the same click 120 BMP pattern but this time the [L]pulse is driving a Yamaha CS-30 synth Gate Input via a Passive Gate Switch/Sequencer to vary the pattern somewhat. The CS-30 does not have the fastest rise time EG in the world by any means but if you listen you can still hear how tight the pattern sounds against the Quarter Note SRC Click on the [L]. Again zoom in and measure both the durations and the offsets against [L] and [R] - we are talking a few samples here and this has as much to do with the CS-30 EG as anything else. If I had a Minimoog handy they would be even closer.
An outtake from a jam session. I happened to go to the patterns I had been working on for the impulse MD contest, and, although there is some SH-101 going on--and the MD may or may not have been going through my Sherman FB2--I thought I post it any damned way. As far as the MD sounds are concerned, everything is done with the Impulse Machine.

Did you know that I like the chemical brothers? You could tell? Of course these tracks are all EFM-CB except 8-CB (ironically) and 16-M4, which are control machines used to turn everything off at the end and change the filter settings of 3-HT, the droney pulsy thing. You would probably want to mute them or erase those tracks in a live situation because they alter the kit in drastic ways that you probably don't want. Note that it's not really playable after the sequence finishes - that's cause of track 8.
