just some jamming i thought i'd share...just my MD, one pattern, one kit...having fun with the CTRL-AL machine.
one day, i'll have something real to post! ;)
take a listen, it goes from straight ahead to more interesting in the middle, to kinda weird near the end
i hope, if anything, this gives an example of how far you can take a pattern with the CTRL-AL machine alone. i've been using it lately just to tweak the fuck out of my current patterns and recording the audio which i'll use later as loops. the CTRL-AL will change things up fast, but is to hard to work with automating so much.
Seeing as the Machinedrum is the heart of Autechre's drums on their 8th album Untilted, I had a go at replicating the drum track off my fave song off the album, LCC. The slower, half time part isn't right at the moment at all, but I'm pretty close to the first half of the song. All the (totally wrong) melodic/rumbly elements came from the microKorg and I fiddled around with sampling the snare hits on my Numark EM260.
11 patterns in one song. First time using the MD's song mode, I overdid it a little. The bass sounded somewhat ok in a pair of krk rp5. Listen at high volume for full experience XD
Hope you like it!
A quick jam to show off my newly built x0xb0x (TB303 clone kit). It's pretty dry, just wanted to focus on the sound coming out of the box. MD on percussion and some synth sounds from the MnM.
